Financing and Approval

For your own protection, we cannot give a phone approval. We offer many different lending options and do not want to misinform you over the phone in regards to how we may help you find a reliable vehicle that fits your needs and your budget. It will save you time and money to come in and sit with a Finance Specialist so we may offer you the best service we can, and help find and finance a vehicle that is right for your specific situation and financial goals.
Your pre-approval amount is based on a number of factors, including but not limited to your credit score, your credit payment, your employment history, your residency, and personal and professional recommendations. Pre-approval amounts vary from guest to guest, and we always encourage you to schedule an appointment with a finance specialist to best figure out if our finance program works for you and your needs.
There are no minimum qualifications to pre-qualify. Every auto loan application is evaluated based on each individual’s credit profile and equity position. An applicant with previous good auto credit, for example, may not have to meet income and job time requirements, whereas an applicant with a recent repossession would.
Monthly payments are based on your credit profile and the vehicle you are purchasing. Newer, lower mileage cars may qualify for extended terms.
You may get approved with no down payment required, or you may be asked to bring in an initial investment in order to get you the right vehicle at the right payment amount. For a more favorable approval, our average customer brings in a down payment of around $1,375.00. Ultimately, your down payment requirement will be determined based on your current financial situation. All guests are encouraged to ask us about using a trade-in (see below), and to check out our current sales promotions for extra savings and to help cover auto ownership start-up costs.
We recommend that you consult with one of our auto loan specialists first. They can determine how much you qualify for before you start shopping. This method will increase your chances of approval and decrease the number of inquiries on your credit report.
No. Auto loans through us can only be used to purchase automobiles from dealerships with an auto loan center onsite. Each dealer selected by us has passed a rigorous screening for quality and customer service. This process ensures that each customer will purchase a dependable vehicle. When a vehicle is purchased from a private owner we have no way of determining the quality and dependability of the car.
Pulling your credit isn’t the first thing we do once we receive your online credit pre-approval application—we do this to protect you from negative side effects caused by having your credit pulled. Your credit is only pulled once we’ve established that you’re a good fit for our finance program. And, once your credit is pulled, it’s only pulled once (since we’re the bank for your car, too), unlike at many other dealerships who shop your loan around to multiple banks.
A co-signer may be taken into consideration for a buyer who does not comply with all the credit requirements. The income of the buyer, however, must meet all income and budget guidelines without reliance upon the income of the cosigner.

In a Chapter 7 case, you should get your Notice of Discharge from the bankruptcy clerk of court at least 90 days after your meeting with the creditors.

If you are in a Chapter 13, the process is significantly different. A Chapter 13 is a continuous proceeding that typically takes between three to five years to complete. If you need a new car while you are still in Chapter 13, you will need permission from the bankruptcy court before you can buy one.

If the repossession was not included in a bankruptcy and there is still a balance on the account, you can still pre-qualify.
All trade-ins are appraised on an individual basis, and we will help you find the CMV (Current Market Value) of your vehicle to be used for your purchase at Easton Motors. Simply schedule an appointment at one of our five used car dealerships so that we can begin the trade-in appraisal process. Once you’ve arrived, the total appraisal process should take roughly 15 minutes, and can be completed while you’re applying for credit for a new-to-you car. Make sure to bring your title with you at the time of the appraisal; failure to bring the title can delay the appraisal process.
We can still help even if you owe money on your trade. In some cases, though, you may be upside down on your loan and the best thing to do is keep the car until its value catches up. The obvious benefit is that you will have equity to work with when you’re ready to look for a new car. Generally, this is the best choice and it will help you back on top of things. Our process is easy: all we need for you to do is to set an appointment with a Finance Specialist at your nearest branch location (Adams, Baraboo, Beaver Dam, Portage, or West Salem). Your Finance Specialist will work with you every step of the way to help find you the right vehicle for your needs and your budget.

When it is time for your appointment, just bring the following documents along to give to your Finance Specialist: WI Driver’s License, 2 current pay check stubs or other proof of income, if you have recently moved please bring a utility bill or something similar that shows your current mailing address. Renters should bring their signed year-long lease. Also, bring information for at least 8 personal references. If you have an initial down payment, please be sure to bring it in with you—whether it’s cash, check or debit/credit card. Lastly, if you are trading in a vehicle, be sure to bring in the vehicle along with its title. If you cannot find the title, we can help you apply for a missing title; you will need to bring $20 in cash to submit with the forms.

Your Finance Specialist will then sit down with you to complete the application process. This will take 20-30 minutes and they’ll work directly with our underwriters to find the right vehicle for you based on the information you provide us during the application process. You will then be able to take your vehicle selections for a test drive to determine which one works best for your situation. Once you have decided on a vehicle, we will provide you with the best payment plan options for you to consider. If you are in agreement with the payment plan we have selected for you, we then complete the process by helping you obtain the necessary vehicle insurance through a company of your choice, and signing the necessary contracts.

When it comes time to consider getting into your second loan we have many other lending options available at interest rates starting as low as 4.99% to 19.99%. With your approved credit we can offer more vehicle choices at even lower monthly payments. Our goal is to keep your credit healthy, while also providing you with a great vehicle that will last.

Warranties and Mechanical Service

All of our vehicles receive a Multi Point inspection by an ASE Certified technician before they are delivered to any of our five dealerships. Because we stand behind our vehicles and strive to offer you reliable and long-lasting transportation, we offer a fantastic Limited Power Train Warranty as a part of our Customer Care Package. The warranty is good for 24 months or 24,000 miles, whichever comes first. Along with the warranty, you will receive one included year of Roadside Assistance and one included year of oil changes. This is an additional value of over $2500, and is our way of providing you with the best service we can.
